RCCPC Secretary’s Report (Week 7)

Good evening fellow rotarians and guests. Last Monday August 13, 2018, we did not have our regular membership meeting since it was a holiday. However, on August 20, 2018, we had our fellowship night which was so full packed with fellow rotarians, our beautiful spouses, kids and guests. Our special thanks to all celebrants and rotarians who shared their generosity through bringing foods.

 

Last Thursday August 30, 2018, we had our BOD meeting held at Robinsons Galleria, Cebu City. Among the topics we had discussed and approved were the following:

 

  1. Governors visit will be this coming Wednesday, September 3, 2018 at 6pm here at the country club. We have approved that all rotarians will be assessed P1,000.00 to slightly cover the costs during the event and the P300.00 per rotarian for the governor’s visit charge.
  2. As approved, we have our meeting tonight Sept. 3, 2018 in preparation for the upcoming Governor’s visit but on Sept. 10, 2018 next Monday, we will have NO meeting, since we meet twice this week as make up.
  3. There will be a district sisterhood between 3860 and a certain district in Japan on October 2018, most probably during the Rotaplast week. This is in occasion for the visit of our rotary Japanese brothers here in Cebu.
  4. Paul Harris pledges are gone 15 in our club. Our President will innumerate them later on his President’s time.
  5. Our TRF night is moved down from Nov. 10 as previously announced to Nov. 9 in Golden Prince Hotel near ayala center. Early bird registration is P800.00 and the deadline will be on Oct. 9 next month. On site registration will be at P1,000.00 per rotarian. If you bring your wife, spouse reg. Is P600.00. This event will be hosted by our club and being headed by DGE Philip Tan and chaired by no other than his very handsome son, Jeffrey.
  6. We will be rehabilitating the dental clinic in Tejero. PP Felix as the president of PDA is tasked to chair this project.
  7. Mark is proposing a partnership project with rotary for the rehabilitated drug addicts with Labang Organization from delaab foundation.
  8. PP Toby is also proposing another project which is the brgy. Library project and kusina sa kahimsog ug pag amoma in partnership with Gawad Kalinga together with the province of Cebu.
  9. PP Felix is also proposing another project that is providing CR for the badjao community in Alaska mambaling.
  10. The 12 boxes of sorted school supplies donated from our brothers in Japan (RC oita Minami) will be distributed this week. This will be chaired by me. Temporarily, the items were stocked by Dir. Mark Ynoc’s warehouse.
  11. Rotaplast will be focused after the Governor’s visit since this will be one of our flagship projects also that need to be given priority.
  12. Next BOD meeting as pledge by Dir. Mark Ynoc, will be hosted in their lovely place in San Remegio Pension Suites and gladly accepted by the board. He is also pledging the 1 lechon for our governor’s visit.

 

Last August 31, our beloved PP Felix was with DYRF radio to tackle about PDA projects and sidelined discussing on air about our Rotaplast project. Our sincere thanks PP Felix Asoy.

 

On September 1, 2018 last Saturday, we had our Mangrove planting and beach clean up project in Naga City. This was a district 3860 level project and concluded to be a very successful event. This is in participation with the City of Naga Local government and the different sectors in the said LGU. Special thanks to the following rotarians who made themselves available during the event. These were: Pres. Rodien and spouse Jiji, AG Boy, PP Rey Sabay, PP Al Alcibar whom catching up, PE Jun Falcon and yours truly. Afterwards, we had a great time a rotary fellowship with Pres. Rodien in their beautiful house in Naga City. Present on the fellowship were: DGE Philip Tan, PDG Patwasi, PE Jun Falcon, PSAG Al Alcibar and Rtn. Roy of Ormoc. The grilled Tasik and the very delicious humba with japanese wines and whiskys made up our morning.

 

Again, reiterating to all of you, we need your presence on the governor’s visit this coming Wednesday September 5, 2018 here in the same venue. We will have a fellowship together with the governor. Please bring with you your spouses and family.
