RCCPC President’s Message – Week 1

PRESIDENT’s MESSAGE

Good Evening Fellow Rotarians.

The first Messages I would utter tonight would be appreciations and thank you for all the Rotarians who have helped and supported me in the induction preparations and Induction itself.

I have already mentioned their names as well as the sponsors in the Induction Speech. However, behind the scenes there were lot of activities happened especially in relation to the visit of the 22 Japanese Rotarians from four Different Sister Clubs in Japan.

I have to thank the following individuals, who I did not acknowledge during induction since the matters are about taking care of our guests.

AS early as June 15, 3 days before induction, our Japanese Guests arrived and we have done the following activities:

  • June 15 – Pick-up Guest from the Airport 11 Japanese Guests using the vans of PP George Hong, Treasurer Buboy Tan and Pres Rodien Car

 

  • June 15 Friday – Dinner At Tao Yuan Restaurants attended by PP Masao Koike as Host, PDG Anton, PP George Hong, Treasurer Buboy Tan & Spouse Marz and President Rodien Paca

 

  • June 16 Saturday – Using the Van of George Hong with Driver and 2 of my 2 cars with 2 drivers, we brought 7 Japanese Golf At Cebu Country Club at June 16 sponsored by PP Masao Koike, PDG Anton, PP Bengie Akol, PP George Hong, PP Jack Jamero and President Rodien Paca. Lunch were hosted by PP Koike, PP Jack, PP George, PDG Anton and PADG Bengie Akol.

 

  • June 16 – Saturday – while we were playing Golf, thru the kindness of PADG Tony Ynoc in providing us Van, PP Sam Tio and Spouse-to-be Carla and My Spouse Jiji accompanied the CITY Tour of Four (4) Japanese or 2 couples.

 

  • June 16 Sat – there was a dinner for the Japanese Guest at KAYU restaurant hosted by Past President Masao Koike and attended by the following Rotarians; PDG Anton, PP Goerge, PDAG, Bengie Akol, President Rodien Paca. That time the Japanese guests increased from 11 to 14 Japanese Guests. Secretary Aldrin met the 2 additional Japanese from RC Tatebayashi. Cars used at that time were PP George Car and my two (2) cars.

 

  • June 17 Sunday – Using the Van Of PP George and my other car with Drivers, we took 10 Japenese at Alta Vista Golf. PP Toby Sponsored the green fees of 7 Japanese and 3 Japanese by me. Rotarians who played along were PP Bengie Akol & Son Jiggy Akol, PP Toby Florendo and President Rodien Paca and Son Clive Paca. Lunch and snacks were served at Alta Vista.

 

  • June 17 – while the other 8 Japanese were golfing, 6 Japanese went into Island Hopping at Mactan with Treasurer Buboy and Spouse MArz with daughters Mize and Shoby. It was really Father’s day and since we had guests, our rotarians celebrated the day with our guests.

 

  • June 17 – Noontime, our DG Bing Garcia already arrived and met by the AG Boy Unabia, who also kind enough to accompany him to a dinner.

 

  • June 17 – Dinner Fathers Day was hosted again and again by PP Marcy Koike at NONKI Restaurant. This time Already 18 Japanese Arrived and join the dinner and attended by following Rotarians:

 

  1. PP Koike San and Spouse Rosanna and two kids
  2. PP Bengie Akol and Son Jiggy
  3. President Rodien and Spouse Jiji and Children Carl, Clive and Candice
  4. Treasurer Buboy and Spouse MArz
  5. PP Sam Tio and his Spouse Carla
  6. PP George Hong

 

  • June 17 – After the Dinner PP Sam and Treasurer Buboy went to meet the 4 additional Japanese around 11 pm using Treasurer Buboy Van.

 

  • June 18 MONDAY – Induction Day. As far as the Cars are concerned we have now the van of VP John Sulay as additional van. It is so timely since after bringing the Japanese to Cebu Country Club, my fortuner met an accident at the Road near the waterfront.

 

  1. So we have again the cars of PP George, Treasurer Buboy and my two other cars.

 

  1. I had early breakfast meeting with Governor Bing Garcia at the hotel.

 

  1. Together, with DG Bing Garcia, 10 Japanese went to Tejero Elementary School and did the following:

 

  1. Feeding of more than 500 students
  2. Distribution of Banana Chips as Gift Courtesy of Rotarian BOEWGIN
  • ALS Observations at the Tejero ALS Building
  1. LUNCH Was served at Grand Convention Restaurant as arranged VP John Sulay.

  1. 12 Japanese went to Cebu Country Club for Golf Once Again and hosted once again by PP Koike, PDG Anton, PP Bengie Akol and PP George and PP Jack. Lunch was also served there at CCC.

 

  • June 18, 2018 – Induction Night came and I really thanks for all RCCPC Rotarians and guests who came. I thank once again for the vans of PP Goerge, VP John Sulay, Trea Buboy and my two cars.

 

  • June 19, 2018 Tuesday – Using the vans of PP George, VP John Sulay, Treasurer Buboy and my two cars.

 

  1. We had early breakfast meeting with DG Bing Garcia at Waterfront again and around 10:30 am he was picked up by Dir Felix Asoy to bring to airport.

 

  1. 16 Japanese Rotarians went to BUlacao with their baggages for the launching of Water-Drilling project. Rotarians who attended:

 

  1. PE Jun Falcon
  2. Treas Buboy Tan
  • Rotarian Jun Roble

 

  1. From Bulacao, they went directly at the airport where I waited them there after our meeting with DG Bing Garcia.

 

  • June 19, 2018 TUESDAY – 6 other Rotarians from Japan went into Island Hopping Hosted by Marcy Koike and Spouse Rossana for the whole day.

 

  • June 19, 2018 TUESDAY – Dinner at GORLIZ Restaurant as hosted by PP Marcy Koike. We had only 6 Japanese remaining and cars were provided by PP George and PP Marcy Koike. Rotarians who attended were PP Koike, Me, Sec Aldrin and Treasurer Buboy Tan.

 

  • June 20, 2018 WEDNESDAY – Using the Car of PP George and PP Koike, 6 Rotarians at the airport at Mactan at Wednesday Morning.

 

I really thanks so much PP Marcy Koike for the great efforts and kindness and support and also to PP Goerge, Treas Buboy and VP Sulay and PADG Tony Ynoc for rendering kindness in letting us use your cars and vans.

 

In June 20, 2018 WEDNESDAY – after all the Japanese went back to Japan, I had to take care the Americans; PP Romeo Toledo and MTF International. We went to meet the LGU at City of Naga for the Medical Mission set on June 25, 2018, the next Monday.

 

June 21, 2018 THURSDAY – a meeting with IPP Sam Tio, PP Romy Toledo and Dr Catan of Province of Cebu Health Department took place at 3:00 pm.

 

JUNE 22, 2018 FRIDAY – The first board meeting happened at Robinson Galleria and attended by the following:

June 24, 2018 – MTF International Arrived at the airport and new names were given to our club because of our hospitality: ROTARY CLUB OF CEBU PORTER CENTER. The Rotarian porters were:

I have to cut my report since I have given the floor to Past President Romy Toledo to summarize the whole Medical Mission.

CONGRATULATIONS TO PP ROMEO TOLEDO …for a JOB WELL DONE. YOU have to come back get your award from US at the end of the year aside the plaque we have given to you.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL RCCPC ROTARIANS. We have done already 20 significant and huge projects barely a week of this year!
