DISTRICT 3860 – GOVERNOR’S MESSAGE (JANUARY 2017)

JANUARY 2017 MESSAGE

Dear ALL STAR TEAM,

SAULOG! CELEBRATE THE NEW YEAR IS HERE!

After the lull during the holidays we’re back to the daily grind and to important Rotary business. We are excited to see which among our clubs will be able to lock the Presidential Citation this early in the month of January. Monitoring the Presidential Dashboard is quite exciting, actually seeing the goals in red turn green means the club’s goals have been accomplished. Go for it All Star Team!

There are a lot of activities to look forward to at the first quarter of 2017 but the action will be this January. Pres Orman Manasala who is in charge of our DISCON 2017 Online Registration has reported over 300 registrants so far and we hope to see this triple at the end of this month.

What can we look forward to at DISCON 2017 on March 2-4, 2017!

  • NO LESS THAN Atlanta Convention Chair/RI Director Robert Hall will be at DISCON 2017 as ROTARY INTERNATIONAL PRESIDENT REPRESENTATIVE (RIPR).

Here are continuing reminders and new ones for clubs to be mindful about.

  • For all members to register in My Rotary to view your club’s status and get access to valuable resources and helpful online tools. Post your completed projects and accomplishments in Rotary Club Central. See your Presidential Citation dashboard turn green!
  • Coordinate with District Chair for Annual Giving Riezl Reyes for new Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) and for matching of points. For those who need updates on their TRF contributions, have issues and concerns about TRF, please email the District so we can follow thru on these concerns
  • Adapt the Rotary Brand – visit www.rotary.org and check out the Rotary Brand Center. Under the template page you can create your own Rotary Club logo. Help strengthen Rotary’s public image with a consistent look. Our RI Public Image Coordinators have once again called our attention to Rotary markers and signages that are not using the Rotary Brand. Please comply.
  • Participate in our Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Training and Rotary Week activities this coming February. Our Rotary Week Chairs Ricky Ballesteros (Visayas) and Lisa Enrile (Mindanao) together with the AGs will coordinate the Rotary Week celebration.

Happy New Year to all! Let me share with you my favorite new year greeting.

May this be a year of health and happiness, love and laughter, wealth and wisdom peace and prosperity, glee and glow! Shine on!
