Hello Pres Tobby,

IMG_5441

1.) Respectfully forwarding to you the Project Plan proposal of our Anapog Fishermen’s Association in San Remigio.

Hoping for your kind consideration for the delay, because they are very serious about it, and put their hearts together with the help of the Municipal officers.

This project is about Mini Sardines Making, the one we discussed during our visit, with the Oitaminami Rotarians, Pdg Anton, Pp George, Pp Marcy and yours truly.

During our conversation, they informed us that the 285 units of motorized bancas with fishing nets, in cooperation of the Bantay Dagat, has helped them protect the Tanion Strait where it used to be abused by a daily ten to 20 commercial illegal fishers.

Because the area turned to be more and more abundance of fish, the price before where it used to be bet 60-80 pesos per kilo, sometimes, because of oversupply, the price will go down to five pesos sometimes.

Thus, mini sardines making idea popped up during that gathering.

For further information you can always call me and if you need more inputs from them, i will always be available to transport them to meet us in Cebu or in San Remigio.

2.) The next proposed project is COOPERATIVE STORE. Since most if their needs depends from their fishing activity, in many cases during abundance of catch, they will always be victims of abuse by some unscrupulous middle men. Thus coop store   Is very much helpful to all their needs specially in times of unfavorable weather conditions.

3.) 80 hectare Fish Sanctuary. For me this is a very laudable project and in the right time to be enhanced to protect and provide the fish to re generate into more population.

However, i fully agree with our Japanese Rotarians that what they wanted us a project that can directly address the immediate need of these fishermen.

Fish Sanctuary project can easily be established when extra income from canning be made available.

4.)   About the just finished Medical Mission in San Remigio last July 22-24, ’16, this is very productive project. This us initiated by Antonio D. Ynoc Foundation, The Rotary Club of Cebu Port Center, UNICEF’s Physicians for Peace lead by PDG Lyne Abanilla and five medical doctors from RC Intramuros.  We were able to serve three San Remigio Elementary schools: Anapog, Tambongon and Lambusan Elem schools. Having more or less a thousand pupils.

Children found to have early eye defects were listed and in a few days, a doctor will come back to us and have their eye glasses tested and to be distributed  to the patients.

During that mission we were able to discover and treat about Five Pupils with Heavily damaged eye sight that may cause them permanent or total blindness if not brought asap to an eye specialist and hi tech eye equipment in the city hospital.

Thus yours truly immediately brought them to V. Sotto thru the help of the Hospital Director  Dr. Gerry Aquino. As of this writing some patients are in still in progress for their treatments.
