RCCPC Secretary’s Message – Week 3

Good evening fellow rotarians and guests. Last meeting July 9, 2018, thanks to the following rotarians who made the program very successful, PE Jun Falcon, in his might and preparedness we’re able to have a smooth program. Leading us in the invocation, pambansang awit and the recitation of four way test, we have our new rotarians Robert Barquilla and Rtn Silver Cepeda seen in action already as new rotarians.

 

During the meeting, our president Rodien highlighted that we had a very active rotary week given the achievements particularly the projects we had just accomplished at this early rotary year. Last meeting also, Dr. Rene Catan was our guest speaker and talk about the status of the ATHRITIS illness in our province of Cebu and shown some plans and implementations on how our government be of help in addressing this problem most especially to the less fortunate patients. On that occasion also, our club gave recognition to the Provincial Health Office thru Dr. Rene Catan in partnering our successful Medical mission with the MTF International. Together also in that event, we turned over the medical supplies and equipments donated by the MTF International to the PHO. On the other note, our Pres. Rodien discuss and proposed during his president’s message that a draft of a one year plan of speakers of each rotarian member where each one has to discuss something not only on his classification but every rotarian’s interest and hobby for 10minutes. The President closed his message by noting that our GM meeting should stick to one hour only and everything is timed and pre-planned.

 

Last July 11, 2018 Wednesday, we had our 2nd board meeting happened in Robinson’s Galleria. Among the topics tackled were as follows:

  1. Final turnover of accountabilities from the previous administration that should be today July 16, 2018 and be presented to the general membership. However, due to some reasons that the previous administration could not comply, the board decided to present instead the financial status of our club as started during the current administration. This will happen later on our program
  2. We also discussed the governor’s visit and appointed VP John Sulay to be the chairman of the preparations, among others on that event.
  3. We also discussed that our club should have an inventory of our water drilling projects started from the first water drilling project we accomplished up to the present and on the future projects for this matter. The assigned Rotarian to chairman this inventory is Rtn. Larry Lelina to be assisted by Rtn. Robert Barquilla.
  4. Another project was the ROTAPLAST mission to be happened on October of this year. Our president suggested that there should be a documentary video for a maximum of 5 minutes to be presented during the discon 2019 in GenSan. On the other note, PDA(Philippine Dental Association) is already committed P30,000.00 to be spent for the welcome dinner on the volunteer doctors during the event.
  5. A proposal from Rtn. Felix Asoy that our club will be the host club of Rotary and a partner of the PDA for a fun run to be held on February next year. This is also timely for the activities on Rotary week to be happened on February 2019.
