RCCPC President’s Message – Week 3

Good evening Fellow Rotarians.

Welcome to our 3^rd meeting of the Rotary Year 2018-2019. It has been very good week for the Rotary Club of Cebu Port Centre.

For the information of the whole Body, the District 3860 has already changed the COMMUNICATION STRATEGY for the whole district. These are the following mediums and tools:

• Facebook – The district has been operating this page for years ago and only few clubs tried to post this page. Since June we are utilizing this page already and posted all our activities.

• Messenger Group – The District is also creating Messenger Group for all the “INSPIRING TEAM” where we can interact at District level in the messenger. The advantage of the Messenger over VIBER, this is FB_Account-based while Viber is number based. So if you have two cellphones with two sims, probability you will have 4 Viber accounts. The Downside of Messenger is that some members don’t have Facebook Account.

• Viber Group – The district has also created VIBER GROUP of all the “District Inspiring Team”. The redundancy is to make sure that those who have FB accounts, will be covered in group.

Comparing our communication systems and documentations to align to our district, the district does not have the online communication and documentations systems where we can share the documentations at one time only.

Please note that while the District is requiring all the clubs to update the Rotary International Web pages and portal. All the projects of the Clubs shall be updated in the systems. All the strategic management and planning of the clubs shall be recorded in the ROTARY.ORG.

However, the RI web page is Club-based and not in the District-based. The district has to manually categorize and filter all clubs reports and align in the District Challenge.

The result is that we have to make two sets of reports every Month; one for the District in Template-guided reports and one for the RI, which is online database.

Please be guided that until now, not all members are being registered online and if they are registered they may have forgotten the passwords already. Our plan is that next month we will have the drive to discuss the portal here during the meeting and do constantly every other meeting for five (5) minutes.

ALL club presidents are invited to the dinner at the Okada with RI President Barry Rassin on July 19, 2018. MASS induction of all Club Presidents during this dinner, to be performed by RI President Barry Rassin. All Inspiring District Governors will also be inducted by RI President Barry Rassin during the lunch scheduled with him exclusively for Inspiring District Governors on July 19, 2018. As mentioned I will be there for this event together with one Rotaractor who will be there July 19-22, 2018 for the ASIA PACIFIC Conference. The club sponsored one Rotaractor to be there and bring the banner for the RCCPC.
