Presidents Message – Week 27 Regular Meeting

Good evening.
I would like to thank the Rotarians who attended our recently concluded DisCon.
It was a very well run 3 day event. For our club it kicked off with the Swing to End Polio which our club hosted in Alta Vista Golf and Country Club. 36 players played including RIPR Robert Hall and PRID Guiller Tumangan.
Special thanks to our members who played. We had 2 members who finished Champions in their divisions, PP George Hong and myself.
On the first day our members who attended the opening ceremonies looked good in their coat and tie. We all also looked good in our glowing shirts at the fellowship night.
Our club received several distinctions at the DisCon. The $100/member for the Rotary Foundation. The $2,650 donation to the Polio Fund. Our P41,000 donation to the Surigao classroom rehabilitation.
We had several members receive individual recognition from the Rotary Foundation. PDG Anton and spouse Lili, PP Marcy, PP George, PP Ed, PE Sam, Rotarian Bright, myself, AG Gilbert, Dir Kit. We thank you for giving to Rotary.
I will be asking the water drilling teams to meet this week to make sure we can start our projects soon.
An update on our ALS graduates. The final test is yet to be scheduled so we can not yet determine the final number of graduates. We will update once we know the schedule.
The dates of the Distas have been announced. It will be May 26-27 in Tagum, Davao del Norte. Those who can attend, especially the incoming officers, please try to represent our club.
We are in the last quarter of this Rotary year. Let us focus on the remaining projects so we can end this Rotary year with fulfilled hearts.
