RCCPC President’s Message – Week 7

Dear Fellow Rotarians,

Good evening Fellow Rotarians.

Mother Teresa once told us “None of us, including me ever do great things. But we can small things, with great love and together we can do something wonderful.”

I appreciate all the efforts of the Board and even with their tight schedules last Thursday and still they had dedicated time and talents to discuss many things for the betterment of the people Rotary. The small efforts we do, together we can make things beautiful.

I called this meeting and this could special in Nature since we have to welcome the Governor on September 5, 2018. Our chairman for this event is Vice-President Sulay and later, we will all hear the preparations he will gonna do this Wednesday during the Governor visit. We would see the whole program and the different anticipated discussions.

During the board meeting, we have the following Presentors:

  • PP Felix Asoy (7 Minutes)
    1. Water Drilling Project for the Badiaw Community with the International Sister clubs
    2. FUN RUN with Philippine Dental Association in February 2019 named “Dagan Ko PUSTISO MO”
    3. The Rehabilitations and continuing of the dental services at the Tejero Elementary School which we have to make proposal for the acquisition of new tools for dentistry.

 

  • Dir Jeff Tan (3 minutes)
    1. As the Chairman of the TRF night this coming November 9, 2018 at the Golden Prince Hotel. For the information of the everybody, the TRF night is moved from November 10 Saturday to November 9. As the host club, this could be a fund raising opportunity for us with right management.

 

  1. Director Jeff will explain how to register the TRF night and how many already committed to the TRF Paul Harris and TRF Contributions

 

  • Director MARK YNOC (5 minutes)
    1. He will discuss about the incoming projects for the Community Corps
    2. He will also discuss Economic Development projects

 

Since I would only discuss for about 10 minutes, the total presentations of our club shall be only 25 minutes. We have to show our professionalism in time management and show the GOVERNOR that we should start on time and shall end ON TIME.

Last Saturday, I appreciate so much for the visit and fellowship of District Governor Elect Philip Tan, PDG Rey, District Officer Troy Bumagat, PP AL Alcibar, PE Jun Falcon and Sec Aldrin. I hope you had your good time during that time.

After the fellowship drinking, I attended the GLOBAL GRANTS seminar conducted by TRF Chair Anna Bumagat, DGN Riezl Reyes and DGE Philip Tan. We did workshops and I filed right away a GLOBAL GRANT for the Tejero Rehabilitation and Innovation.

My proposal for the Tejero was to rehabilitate the building and supply new equipments like 40 computers, ONLINE database systems and connections in coordination will be made together with DEP-ED or Department of Education.

The Global Grant Seminar made me realize these significant things:

  • We can get global grant in millions at right applications
  • RCCPC or Club despite having contributed more than USD 100k in the TRF Fund, we have never applied for a global grant
  • RC Cebu the Mother CLUB, was able to get more than 6 global grants at millions of pesos.
  • Our ROTAPLAST, We can also get a global grant should we chose have to funds annually from the TRF Fund. It is so fitting since the direction of the ROTAPLAST is to have local doctors involved in the whole project.
  • MOST OF ALL, our club can be 100% PAUL HARRIS CLUB THIS YEAR.

 

Please see in the Portside Publications that we have the general list of the INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTION and the different points individually. By sharing points to our fellow Rotarians and manage the points we can achieve the 100% Paul Harris Club this year. I would like to acknowledge PP Masao Koike, a major DONOR and now paid already USD 2,000. Tonight as President, I am giving my USD 1,000 as well. I know we have already pledges and now expected to USD 20,000.

Lastly, I would like to follow up our solicitations of the ROTAPLAST. I have made already my solicitations worth P 20,000. We have now start to raise the funds since we have only 30 days away from the ROTAPLAST. I would like to ask everybody to review one by one the committees. I would like to distribute the TARP already this time and book the radio program for the ROTAPLAST. The Video maker will be also contacted this week for the documentation in which we will present at DISCON for five-six minutes.

We would have our hands full this month and the next two months. But as presiden, I am not afraid because I have 55 RCCPC rotarians will multiple hands to help me.
