SECRETARY’S CORNER (January 29, 2018 Meeting)

Good evening, my dear Great RCCPC!
A sincerethankfulnessto the following Rotarian colleagues who assumed program roles from our last January 22, 2018 meeting, to wit: Rtn Larry Lelina for the Invocation and PambansangAwit, Rtn Ike Enriquez for the Recitation of Four-Way Test, PP Tony ynov/Pres Sam Tiu for the Fellowship Singing, PP Tony Ynoc for the Introduction of Guest and Visiting Rotarians. I missed our Club meetings for the past weeks as I was out of town, visiting my other Branch – Tacloban (Region VIII).
Our AG/PP Boy Unabia, AGR/PP Rey Sabay, President Sam Tiu, and President-Elect RodienPaca attended the Protocol Seminar last Saturday – 27 January 2017 – hosted by RC Cebu at Casino Espanol de Cebu. The activity was well-participated likewise by other Clubs within our Area/District. Pres. Sam will share to us tonight their learnings and insights from the said Protocol Seminar.
Another reminder for everyone:please be reminded especially our Club Officers and BOD (incoming and outgoing) that registration for Davao Discon 2018 and Pet-Sets2018 arestill open and ongoing. District Conference will be on March 15 to 17, 2018(while PET-SETS is slated a day before the DisCon, i.e. March 14) at SMX Convention Center, Lanang, Davao City. Take note that deadline for payment is fast-approaching, February 15, 2018 and, as announced by the District, there will be NO ONSITE REGISTRATION. If you want our Club Secretary or Club Clerk to register on your behalf, application form for the said DisCon2018is found in our Portside Bulletin. Once you have registered online, please don’t forget to deposit your payment (Deposit under the Account Name RC Central Davao – Davao DISCON2018) either of the following banks: a.) Bank of Commerce – Davao Lanang Branch under Account Number 078-00-002166-0; b.) Bank of the Phil. Islands – Davao Ateneo Branch under Account Number 2511-0019-54. Once deposited, send copy of the validated deposit slip to discon2018@gmail.com. As of this time, accommodation can be secured online but most hotels near the SMX are nearly fully-booked. An alternative way of securing your booking is through Airbnb (www.airbnb.com). For the airfare, Air Asia has still the lowest fare @ Php1,366.00 one way (March 14 Cebu departure starts@ 8:00AM).
