RCCPC Secretary’s Message – Week 1

Good evening fellow rotarians. We welcome you all to our first official  General Membership meeting under the presidency of Pres. Rodien. Before this day comes, we have already bombarded with a lot of activities from our club and all have been noted well and successful.

 

Last June 18, we had our successful induction and turnover ceremonies which marked the official function of the new administration. Details of which will be further discussed by Pres. Rodien in his President’s time. Other remarkable event on that week were the arrival of our Japanese sister clubs of which 22 of them came just to witnessed our induction and turnover ceremony.

 

On June 22, 2018, we had our first BOD meeting held at Robinson’s Galleria, Cebu City. Present during the said board meeting were as follows, Pres. Rodien, VP John Sulay, Treas. Boboy Tan, your’s truly, Dir. Mark Ynoc, Dir., Daryll Abay-abay, Dir. Felix Asoy, Dir. PP Toby Florendo, Dir., Jeff Tan, IPP Sam Tiu and Past Treas Roland Bantilan. Among the things tackled and approved during the meeting were as follows:

  1. Membership – in order to finalize the SAR (Semi Annual Report) the board approved to drop in the roaster of members Mr. Aven Alegado and PP Tim Alampay.

 

Ii. Financial Matters – opening of accounts for the club funds (operation, rotaplast, water drilling, foundation, other special projects). Signatories should be done via set A and set B. The board also approved that there will be an approved budget to be observed on the expenses for this rotary year to be discussed on the next board meeting. On the matters of Collectibles, especially the old accounts pertaining to the annual dues, the board approved that these accounts should be retained in the collectible records instead of offsetting them. This should remain collectible if in case the said rotarian will decide to activate his membership with the club or in the case of applying for another club for clearance purposes. The board also approved that the club will established a PETTY CASH FUND of P5,000.00 for immediate expenditures approved by the president and beyond that amount should be conformed and approved by the board. Also discussed and still to be discussed further that the club will allocate funds for our japanese guests accommodation. Funds will be taken from the japanese donations. Reported Collection and pledges from ads and solicitations were P1.2Mn. Of which, 366k came from the donations of our japanesse brothers. We also agreed that the administration of IPP Sam will do a proper turnover to the present administration via 3×3, composed of Pres. Treas. And Secretary.

 

Iii. Other matters – there will be another sisterhood club from Japan this year to happen. Our gratitude to PP Marcy for his warm accommodation to our sister club’s guests here in Cebu. He spent not only his time but also his resources to accommodate these brothers from Japan. For that, PP Marcy should deserved a warm of applause and salutation. Pres. Rodien will elaborate more on this during his president’s report.

 

Iv. Also the board discussed the recently concluded Medical Mission in partnership with Medical Task Force International and several local partners. Indeed, in the four areas, we all served a total of 5,132 patients. Broken down as, from Naga 2,500; Talisay, 1,232; Borbon 900 and San remegio 520. Pres. Rodien will discuss further the details of this successful mission. Our heartfelt thanks to all the rotarians and all of us, making this Medical mission a success. Also our special thanks to the man as PSAG Tony call him “THE BRIDGE” PP Romy Toledo, he is the responsible person to make a bridge all over california to Cebu passing the Pacific ocean just to do this medical Mission. We would like also to recognize the efforts of all the rotarians whom spared their time last week June 24 on the welcoming of our guests in the airport. Despite it was a family day coz it’s Sunday, they still opted to accept the challenge as a rotarian. Not only a rotarian, but also a laborer from the guest luggage’s. Among them were, Dir. Jensen Racho, IPP Sam Tiu, Rtn, Manny Rivera, Rtn, Dave Ismael and sps. Beth, Dir. Kit Daleon, VP John Sulay and especially to our new rotarians seen in action namely, rtn Ike Enriquez, Rtn Robert Barquella, Rtn Jonathan Roble, Rtn, Jun Pagatpat, Rtn. Jeffrey Oyas, Rtn Ariel Condat. A big round of applause please…

 

This morning, We already sent off our guest from MTF International to there respective flights, our especial thanks to VP John Sulay and Treas. Boboy Tan for lending their van and also to PSAG Tony  Ynoc for his van and cargo truck.
