President’s Message November 14

Good Evening.

It is our 15th meeting for this Rotary year, as we continue the Rotary year a few reminders.

First our dues, we increased our dues because we have acknowledged that this is the lifeblood of our club. It is responsible for our operations and other matters. You may have not noticed but we are using the funds for many things outside the Rotary International dues. For example we did not have an assessment for the Governor’s visit and used the funds from our dues for the visit expenses. Hopefully if dues are fully collected we will no need for an assessment for our Christmas Party scheduled on the 5th of December. We soon will be publishing in the Portside the current status of individual members as to dues and pledges made.

We had a visit last week from CentCom. We were all made aware of what our Armed Forces do for us. Lt Col Medel Aguilar and Col. Lenart Lelina made a very touching presentation. They left tickets to a shooting competition and a sponsorship letter for the competition. It has been proposed that we sponsor the competition. There is a package for a P10,000 sponsorship. If approved we will be using our club funds.

We will give an update of the club funds before the end of the Rotary Semester.

Our pledges for the The Rotary Foundation, during the Governor’s Visit our club pledge reached $13,000. As of today we have only been able to collect $4,000; the $2,000 of PP Marcy, $1,000 of PP Ed Go, the $1,000 of PDG Anton, and my own $1,000. Before it gets to the point that PP Joel will be calling us every week let us fulfill our pledges.

We will be having visitors from the Rotary Club of Tatebayashi on November 29 and 30. We will be bringing them to Tejero Elementary School on the morning of the 29th. The proceeds of the water drilling rig are going to be used to fund the water rehabilitation for Tejereo. RC Tatebayashi was our donor/partner for the drilling rig and we want to be able to show them how we are going to spend the proceeds from the sale. It has also been decided that we will be doing a feeding that day. The feeding is scheduled for the Wednesday but the 30th is a holiday. To show our guests a project we have decided to fund a feeding on that Tuesday, the 29th instead. So please try to attend. We will inform the body of the schedule once it has been finalized.

PP Tony Ynoc has an activity with Rotarian visitors in early January. Our club has been invited by PP Tony to be part of this activity. It is a very busy schedule with lots of activities for the visiting team, mostly in San Remigio.  This will be during Sinulog week, a very busy week for all of us. I hope we can volunteer to help PP Tony in pairs or batches. I will ask PP Tony to do a presentation on the 28th with the final itinerary so we can all volunteer for specific dates.

Again we ask our members to please volunteer to participate in any activity or project that RCCPC has, all of this is done in our Service to Humanity.
